Learning a skill in 12 months
If you had 12 months to learn a skill, and no one else was around. How would you approach it?
The answer is simple.
You have to find a pre-made syllabus. Maybe it’s a series of courses and/or books.
Then you have to find standardized self-assessment methods. Maybe there’s a test you can take.
You can learn anything provided you establish a reasonable expectation on your goal.
You can learn enough theory, but practice will be tough with no one around.
So pick a skill that you can read the theory, practice and self-assess.
Maybe that’s language reading, but not speaking.
Maybe it’s a solo sport. Like running.
Maybe it’s a craft, like coding an app.
For me, it’d probably be understanding AI fundamentals like machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing right now.
How about you?
